Seven Honda Models Now Rated 2023 TSP or better By IIHS

The automaker’s lineup in Canada currently includes the following 2023 models: Civic (Si, Sedan, and Hatchback), Accord Sedan, H-RV, C-RV, 2023, Passport, Pilot, Odyssey, and Ridgeline. All these vehicles were recently awarded Top Safety Pick (TSP) and TSP+ ratings by the Insurance Institute for Highway and Safety (IIHS).

Top Safety Picks: TSP+ and TSP Ratings

The 2023 Pilot, Accord, CR-V, HR-V, and Odyssey scored TSP+ ratings. The Civic Sedan and Civic Hatchback (excluding the R-Type Performance) scored a TSP rating. These vehicles excelled in crash mitigation and avoidance testing. Day and night headlight performance and vehicle-to-pedestrian avoidance systems also tested exceptionally well.

Honda Sensing Suite: A Top Contender

Equipped with Honda Sensing Suite, these vehicles have the most advanced and innovative driver-assistance technology. The safety suite includes a multitude of systems, including collision mitigation braking systems, which apply the brakes when the safety system determines that a crash is unavoidable.

Other safety technologies of the Honda Sensing suite feature, but aren’t limited to, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assistance.

Advanced Body Structure Designed to Enhance Safety

All vehicles in the Honda lineup have Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structures. Each Honda’s body structure is specifically designed to enhance your safety by protecting you and your passengers in the event of a frontal collision. This is further supplemented with advanced restraint systems.

Honda engineers further improved the safety of the 2023 Pilot, enhancing the ACE with a more optimized and integrated front sub- and side-frame. These improvements help the car do better in accidents.

Every 2023 Honda model also received a five-star National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) rating. These ratings are determined following a series of crash tests. On-board safety systems’ equipment and features are assessed, and performance tests are conducted on all active collision avoidance technology.
